A sunny winter's day in Cape Town (23 degrees) always brings thoughts of some exercise. Whether it be a gentle stroll or some really heart-stopping hiking, Cape Town has so many spots to choose from.

Our choice today was the gentle stroll option at a lesser known spot in Cape Town. The walk attracts families, joggers and dog walkers. Situated in the suburbs, Door de Kraal Dam is centrally located on either side of Jip de Jager Drive so it is easily accessible from the N1

There are a few fishing spots - Carp as large as 9kg have been caught here - catch and release only!

Bird life in the reeds and water can be educational for the younger set as well as the adults.
